The LLM in International Commercial Arbitration is designed to combine a robust academic foundation, a capstone practice experience in which every student will gain experience in a mock international arbitration setting, methodical examination and practice of the negotiation and mediation processes, and enough electives for students to be able to take electives to sit for the New York or California bar exam.

This 26-unit program can be completed over the course of two semesters and is structured with a balance of theory and practice; students will focus on a variety of ADR mechanisms including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration, as well as gain practice through the requisite Mediation Clinic and Externship program.
The Two-Year Extended Master of Laws (LLM) at USC Gould allows you to spend one year learning about the U.S. legal system and mastering legal English prior to enrolling in the yearlong, comprehensive LLM curriculum. During the first year, you will receive academic training in legal reading and comprehension, case briefing, legal analysis and synthesis of the U.S. common law system, while improving your English speaking and writing skills. Small, personalized classes during the first year give you an opportunity to adjust to living in the U.S. and attending USC. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will receive a certificate in U.S. Legal Studies and will be enrolled in USC Gould's LLM program.

The LLM in Comparative Law program is designed for attorneys and law school graduates educated outside of the United States. Candidates for the LLM in Comparative Law are enrolled in two required courses, Introduction to U.S. Law and Legal Writing and Research.
