Welcome to the U.S.-German Summer Law School

Spend your summer in the Heart of Europe

The Faculty of Law at Justus Liebig University Giessen, the Marquette University Law School and the University of Wisconsin Law are looking forward to host students from all over the world for the 12th U.S.-German Summer Law School in Giessen.

The program combines high-quality teaching with a wide range of cultural and social activities.

During the four weeks in Giessen, students will study in a familiar atmosphere and meet excellent lecturers and practitioners from all over the world. Besides, they have the opportunity to attend a German language course offered at different levels.

Students can join our field trips to the magnificent European capitals, Berlin and Brussels, and enjoy the beautiful German landscape on our Rhine Valley trip.
The program is completed with several optional social events, such as sports, a Summer Barbecue and the accommodation in a hotel with breakfast.

  • Credits: 3 ECTS credits per course for successfully passing the academic program + 3 ECTS credit for the successful participation in the optional German language courses

The price includes all course materials and a supplementary reading list, the accommodation in shared bedrooms (hotel, one bathroom) incl. breakfast, Health, accident and liability insurance, Free public transport within Giessen and the field trips to Brussels and Berlin as well as most social events.
