MUCH MORE THAN A COLLEGE, AN « FLD » SPIRIT
Studying at the Faculty of Law (FLD) means joining the first private law school in France: a genuine centre of excellence and innovation in the field of legal education.
Created with the founding of the Université Catholique de Lille in 1875, the FLD reopened its doors in 1993, and established itself also in Paris in 2009, in addition to the Lille Campus.
The Faculty offers, to each of its more than 2300 students, the guarantee of optimal working conditions in the service of each student’s success.

Personal guidance & coaching
From their arrival in the first year of the bachelor’s programme to the end of the master’s programme, our students are guaranteed to benefit from an optimal work environment conducive to their academic success and the preparation of their professional futures.
It is thanks to the engaged team committed to the human values that characterize our school that all are able to benefit from collective and individual support systems.
- In the 1st year : the transition between scondary school and university
- Preparation for catch-up sessions
- Regular knowledge evaluations
A different educational method
Since 2014, our Faculty has applied teaching and learning methods that are highly distinct from the traditional blueprint : the student is at the heart of his/her education, becoming an agent of his/her own learning and participating more deeply during courses.
Reflection, interaction, analytical spirit and practical application are the key words of this work method.
Exchanges and interaction during courses between students and the instructor.
The acquisition of legal concepts by linking theory and practical application in the same week (Principle of OWOC = One week / One Course).
An initial base of knowledge resulting from one’s own reflection thanks to “prereading” (Document sent by the instructor a few days before each course that takes up the fundamental notions of a defined theme).
Responsibility and autonomy
- Internships starting at the bachelor's level
Our bachelor’s programme integrates a minimum of 8 weeks of mandatory internships: an element that will distinguish the application files of our students during the master’s application process. In the master’s programmes, the duration of the internship varies depending on the track (between 2 and 6 months).
- Building your network
Our Faculty partners with numerous companies, organizations and professional networks (the French Association of In-House Legal Advisors, the Order of Lawyers of the Lille Bar, human rights defenders, GHICL, the French Red Cross, police headquarters, ...). This close collaboration with the professional world allows our students to benefit from programmes all the more in line with the expectations and evolution of different professions, and offers them the opportunity to build their own professional networks.
Once graduates, our students join the alumni community, which organizes regular networking meetings between alumni and current master’s students.
